It has now been a year since I have moved to Berlin.
Here I’ve been through very different states and emotions, but mainly, I’ve experienced a new and absolutely blissful state: the flow.
What does « being in the flow » mean?
To me, it first means that you do not resist to life.
No, really, don’t resist it.
Resisting leads you to spending a considerable amount of energy to counter something that is obviously on your way for a reason… How about paying attention instead? How about… observing… listening… trying to make sense of this thing since it is there despite all your efforts to avoid it. This must be happening for a reason… so we may want to ask ourselves: what is there for me to understand, to learn from?
I’ve started accepting what’s on my way, but also paying attention to random things that I used to ignore, and that I now see as signs. Literally, like signs in the city showing you the way to your destination. It’s all there, you just need to look and follow.
« Accepting what comes to you » or « following the signs » doesn’t encourage or suggest an attitude of passiveness. You must act, but do let go of the control. It’s like if you’re the main actor of the film of your life but someone/something else is the director of this film (some call it the Universe, I do).
During an Astrology session, my need to let go of control in my life got, unsurprisingly, confirmed. The astrologer mentioned that sentence which resonates so much with me: « the Universe’s plan is better than your plan!« . There my ego got a little shaken up… but for the best ! Of course the Universe’s plan is better than mine ! How about trying following it and see what happens.
But you may be wondering how to let go of that control? Well if controlling is a long term and well settled pattern in you (it is in many of us), replacing it might be easier than repressing it. An alternative to control is having faith, trust. Trust that everything is going to be ok, trust that you’re being taken care of, have faith in your ability to deal what life brings you, realise that you are able to deal with whatever comes your way because even obstacles are here for you to learn. In short, have faith in the Universe. Whatever happens happens for you, not against you.
Once you let the Universe’s plan apply, it’s like if you were following the courant of the river: you go fast, you feel light. You feel in sync with the water, the birds and all the nature around you, from the earth to the sky… you start to reconnect with all the other elements that were always here and from which you may have felt disconnected for a while.
You start feeling the oneness.
Life is then carrying you, you easily connect with any form of life… you feel the divine nature of all, appreciate it, you feel safe and you get an overwhelming feeling of abundance.
This so precious state may last for some time then go until it comes back again. It’s ok. Be compassionate with yourself and simply trust that it will come back again.
